BASILE- With heavy hearts the family of Anita Janice Roy announces her passing on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Amelia Manor Nursing Home in Lafayette at the age of 69. To honor her memory, a visitation take place on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Basile beginning at 11:00 am, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 pm. Inurnment will follow in the St. Augustine Mausoleum with Father Keenan Brown officiating. 

 Anita was born on July 20, 1955, in Eunice, Louisiana to the late Ernest and Theresa Courville Roy. She was a modest woman with a genuine spirit who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A lover of reading and a dedicated caretaker of her horses, Anita’s greatest happiness came from the moments she shared with her beloved grandchildren.

 Anita will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her children, Corey Roy and wife, Katrina of Basile, and Kelly Malugen and husband, David of Lafayette; sisters, Marjorie Broussard and late husband, Leo of Maurice, and Cheryl Reed and husband, Lane of Basile; five grandchildren, Tyler Matte of New Baltimore, MI, Caitlyn Savoy of Lafayette, and Abigail, Jaxson, and Meryn Roy of Basile; as well as extended family and dear friends.

 She is preceded in death by her parents and twin grandsons, Patrick and Michael Roy.
