IOTAIts with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Amos Joseph Romine announces his passing on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at Jennings American Legion Hospital while surrounded by his beloved family at the age of 90. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 04, 2011 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iota. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Joseph Cemetery with Father Mikel Polson Celebrant.
Amos was a retired farmer, but most importantly he was a beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and friend. Leaving behind to mourn his loss and cherish his memories are his daughters and grandchildren which includes, Joyce Kebodeaux of Sulphur and her children, Joan Williams, Clyde and Harlan Kebodeaux and Lydia Hebert The late Margaret Morgan and her children, the late Melissa Billedeaux, Paula, Jason and Jeremy Morgan Renella Williamson of Jennings and her children, Emily Beard and Mary Williamson Gail Richard and husband, Patrick of Iota and their children, Stephen Richard, Cheramie Richard Coussan and Rebecca Richard. Also mourning his loss are his twenty three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. He was very much loved by his daughters, and will be deeply missed by them and their families.
He now rests in Heaven with his beloved wife, Mary Latiola Romine his parents, Frank and Margaret Higginbotham Romine his daughter and his granddaughter.
At the request of the Romine family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Iota on Friday, June 3th from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Saturday, June 4th from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited Friday evening.
