Amelia Fruge

BASILE~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announce the unexpected passing of their  beloved mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friends, Amelia Claire Fruge on Friday, September 03, 2021, at the age of 40. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday, October 01, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel in Basile. Burial will follow in the St. Augustine Cemetery in Basile with Deacon Gary Gaudin, officiating.

Amelia was a 1999 graduate of Basile High School. She was a caregiver but most of all she loved her family, and she will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her. She leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her; daughter, Lillian Cecile Fruge of Basile; parents, Dianne and Jim Young of Basile; sister, Prudence Menier and husband, Patrick of Bayou La Batre, AL; nephews, Samuel Fruge and significant other, Jasmine and Patrick James Menier II and wife, Alyssa; as well as extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her father, Ferrel Fruge; brother, Johnathan Fruge; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.  Leroy Fruge and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Sonnier.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Basile on Thursday, September 30th from 10 am until 8 pm and again on Friday, October 1st from 8 am until time of services. Deacon Gary Gaudin will lead a Rosary at 6:00 pm on Thursday.
