EUNICE-A Celebration of Life will be Celebrated at Ardoins Funeral Home Chapel in Eunice on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 2:00 pm for Alverda LaFleur who passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at Acadian Medical Center in Eunice at the age of 82. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Deacon David Guillory officiating.

Alverda will be greatly missed by her many family and friends. She touched the heart and soul of everyone she met. Alverda will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Raven LaFleur and wife, Leila of Eunice, James LaFleur and wife, Jackie of Ville Platte, and Steven LaFleur of Eunice; her four daughters, Margaretta Bergeron and husband, Donald of Basile, Nita DeRanger and husband, Mike, Charlene Gatte and husband, Carl, and Abigail Gartman and husband, Ronnie all of Eunice; two brothers, Clayton Bertrand of Eunice and Allen Bertrand of Mermentau; three sisters, Mary Jane Blanchard of Eunice, Patrella Bertrand of Basile and Clerda Miller of Egan; fifteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Lee LaFleur; her daughter, Brenda Thibodeaux; and her parents, Oday and Ava LeJeune Bertrand.

The family request that visiting hours be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Tuesday, April 21, 2009 from 3:30 pm until time of services on Wednesday. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Tuesday evening.
