Alma Jeanne Sittig Francois

Jeannie was born on January 6, 1944 to Joseph D. Sittig “Dooley” and Bernadine Frey Sittig “Nuffie” in Eunice, LA.  She grew up with four siblings, Linda Gail Hebert, J.D. “Bunk” Sittig, Karleen Sittig Landry  and Karen Sittig Dodd, who preceded her in death in 2017.  All have resided in Eunice, LA.  She was also preceded in death by husband, Jerry Francois in 2008.  

Jeannie’s passion in life was being a mother to her four children, Clanton “Chip” Johnston, (wife Sheri) of Fredericksburg, TX; Stacy Holien, (husband Darryl) of Colorado Springs, CO; Jill Youll of Grand Junction, CO; and Tara Savoie, (husband Scott) of Iota, LA.  Jeannie also took great pleasure in her five grandchildren, Corbin Johnston, wife Alexis, Bryce Johnston, wife Jessica, Connor Holien and Riley Holien, all of Colorado, and Katie Provost, fiancée Zach, of Eunice, LA.; step grandchildren, Christopher Savoie (wife Jennifer) and David Savoie (wife Allie).  She treasured her great grandchildren, Cooper, Easton and Wyatt Myers, also of Eunice, LA and step great grandchildren, Abi Lejeune and Carson Myers.  She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, all of the Eunice area.  She is also survived by special friend Wayne Ritter of Oakdale, LA.

Jeannie enjoyed many things in life, from rodeo days at Sittig’s Rodeo Arena to many years living in Colorado, raising her children.  Once back in Eunice, she was reunited with family and spent many years enjoying life with them, woodworking, gardening, visiting her children in Colorado and other pursuits here.  She will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
