EUNICE-A wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Allen Courville will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Allen died on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at home in Orange, TX surrounded by his loved ones. He was 83. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Friday, August 14, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery with Father Gil Dutel Celebrant.
Allen a native of Duralde and a resident of Orange, TX was a World War II veteran of the United States Army serving from April 1944 to March 1946. He was very much loved by his wife of 37 years, Clara Buckley Courville of Soso, Mississippi; his beloved children; a son Dale Courville and his wife, Dolly of Walker; a step-son, Robert Parker and his wife, Deborah of Ocean Springs, MS; a daughter, Joyce Quinealty and her husband, Tom of Jackson; a step-daughter, Carolyn Stewart and her husband, John of Ocean Springs, MS; a sister, Ethel Landreneau of Mamou; his cherished grandchildren, Mitsi Q. Poole, Tom Stacey Quinealty, Sunny Q. Thibodeaux, Lori Courville and Kent Courville; eleven great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren, Mark Stewart, Michael Stewart, Stacey Taylor, Benjamin Parker, and Adrianne Parker.
Now he rests in heaven with his parents, Managveg and Julda Fontenot Courville.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Thursday, August 13, 2009 from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm and again on Friday, August 14, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Thursday evening.
