EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at St. Thomas Chapel in Savoy for Melanie Alfreida LaFleur, 55, who passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2008, at her residence. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Dan Edwards Celebrant.

She was owner and operator of Garys Furniture Store in Eunice and also a member of West Side Moose Lodge Chapter 1276 in Brusly, LA.

A Loving Wife, Mother, Sister, and Grandmother, Melanie is survived by her husband, Gary Wayne LaFleur, Sr. of Eunice; two sons, Gary W. LaFleur, Jr., Gregory L. LaFleur and wife, Billie all of Eunice; three brothers, Claude Rhineheart, Louis Rhineheart both of Bayou Sorrel, Ervin Rhineheart of McGee MS; one foster brother, Joe Menzina of Lettsworth; four sisters, Sally Maddie, Gail Norman, Gloria Rhineheart all of Simmesport, Lorena Wilbert of Plaquemine; two foster sisters, Diane Gagnard of Lettsworth, Gretchen Serio of Baton Rouge; thirteen grandchildren; four godchildren, Tara LaFleur, Christine LaFleur, Nancy Marie Rhineheart and Billie LaFleur.

She was preceded in death by her son, Tracey Wayne LaFleur, six brothers, Russell, Ray, Roger, Johnny, Stanley, Charlie Rhineheart; two sisters, Sadie Lewis, Millie Rainwater; her parents, Lewis and Francis Williams Rhineheart; her foster parents, Ernest and Rosa Lee Gagnard.

The family request that visiting hours be observed at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, February 13, 2008, from 4:00 pm until time of services on Thursday, February 14, 2008. Deacon Gary Gaudin will recite a Rosary at 7:00 pm Wednesday evening.
