EUNICE-A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday, February 02, 2009 at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice for Agnes M. Miller, 79, who passed away on January 31, 2009 at the Acadian Medical Center in Eunice. Rite of Committal will follow in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Father Cedric Sonnier and Deacon David Guillory officiating.

Throughout her life, Agnes was blessed with a genuine love for people and with the God-given talent to be a well-respected and professional caregiver. Her nursing career spanned over 34 years in the Eunice community and she deeply loved caring for all. She especially loved caring for the newborns in the hospital nursery and for elderly home-bound patients.

From her famous pancakes she lovingly made for her grandchildren to the highly sought after coconut and pineapple cake she often baked for her friends and relatives, Agnes wonderful baking skills were dearly loved and will be missed by all.

Agnes is survived by her two sons, Gene Miller and wife, Susan, and Bobby Miller all of Eunice; one daughter, Kathy Tucker and husband, Larry of New Iberia; a brother, Adam Miller and wife, Polly of Orange, TX; a sister, Laura LeJeune of Eunice; six grandchildren, Mitch Miller, Melissa Fruge, Tyler Miller, Heather Miller, Seri Stelly, and Michael Tucker; four great grandchildren, Bryce Francois, Gharret Miller, Justin Rosenberg, and Connor Atchison.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mayo and Leah Verret Miller; her husband, Howard Joseph Miller; one brother, Tanzy Miller; five sisters, Adysse LaVergne, Lydia Johnson, Anna Johnson, Lillian Vidrine, and Rita Miller.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed on Sunday, February 01, 2009 at Ardoins Funeral Home in Eunice from 9:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Monday, February 02, 2009 from 8:00 am until time of services. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm Sunday evening.
