Dylan Young

EUNICE~It is with the heaviest hearts and great sadness that the family of Dylan Charles Young announces his passing on Monday, August 2, 2021, at the age of 26.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 12, 2021, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mallet. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Ann Catholic Cemetery with Father Gregory Simien, Celebrant.

Dylan enjoyed listening to music and was a great dancer. He loved to zydeco. He worked with his father and brother doing construction and was also a bricklayer. He loved animals, but his passion was working with horses. Loved spending time with his family and friends but most of all he loved his family and children dearly. He lived his life to the fullest each day; his spirit was like a burst of sunshine.  Left behind to cherish his memories are his loving wife of four years, Katrina R. Young of Ville Platte; his daughter, Zhailey Young of Ville Platte; his mother, Alonda Gobert of Mallet and father, Charles Young of Prairie Ronde; his step-children, Davontray Adams, Logan Adams, Ashawn Lemalle, Dajon Lemalle, Nazhaera Adams, Damiren Soileau, all of Ville Platte; brother, Blair Aros Young and fiancé, Lilly Vicknair of Opelousas; sisters, Brittney Young and Bianca Mouton, both of Duson; uncles, Eddie C. Gobert and wife, Mary of Diamondhead, MS, Paul Gobert of Mallet, Phillip Gobert of Mallet, Richard Young, Sr. and wife, Gertrude of Prairie Ronde; aunts, Genevieve Simien of Opelousas, Lucinda Young  Sonnier and husband, Rogers of Opelousas, Alberta LaChapelle of Frilot Cove, Catherine Young of Prairie Ronde,  Abigail B. Young and Penny Young; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He now rests in Heaven with his maternal grandparents, Mildred DuRousseau Gobert and Clarence Gobert; paternal grandparents, Lucille Rubin Young and Paul Young; uncles, James T. Gobert, Clarence Julius Gobert, Harold Gobert, Dennis Pierre Gobert, Carroll Gobert, Darrell J. Gobert, Jasper Young, Rodney Young, Paul Young, Jr., and Rapheal Young; and aunts, Laura M. Gobert, Thelma Jones, and Bernice Pea.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice from 9:00 am until 12:30pm.
